The Kenya Sakami Gloria AA comes from the Sakami farm in Trans Nzoia, situated at 1,800 meters near Mount Elgon. Since 2010, Gloria and Jarmo’s farm has focused on sustainable practices and direct trade via This Side Up. Zwarte Roes roasts this coffee in small batches with a light roast profile to preserve its vibrant fruity character. Expect notes of raspberry, mandarin, and dried fig, complemented by soft undertones of chocolate and tea. The beans are fully washed using careful water purification and byproduct recycling. Varieties such as SL28, Batian, and Ruiru 11 provide wonderful complexity. While highly recommended for filter methods like V60 and Chemex, it is suitable for various brewing styles. This is coffee with impact, telling a powerful story of women's empowerment.
