Surprise Coffee from Shokunin Coffee is not a fixed single origin, but a rotating selection of freshly roasted coffees. As a result, every bag offers a different origin, process, and flavor profile. Despite this, the style remains consistent: light roast, clean, and versatile for both filter and espresso.
For espresso, the roaster recommends 20 grams of coffee, a 46 gram yield, 93°C, and a brew time of approximately 27 seconds. For filter, the advice is 18 grams to 300 grams of water, 98°C, and a drawdown time of about three minutes. In this way, this coffee combines the element of surprise with clear brewing guidelines and reduced waste.
